Frequency and rest

When does each muscle work? shows you how sets are spread over the week. Doing 14 chest sets in one day is not the same as doing them over two.

Map by muscle and day with the sets in each cell, Quadriceps marked in amber on Thursday and Friday, frequency and rest on the right and the consecutive days warning below

How to read it

Hover over the ⓘ next to the description to see the legend.

Frequency map legend open from the ⓘ icon: darker means more sets, an orange outline means two days in a row, 2× is days with a stimulus and 2d / 5d the rest days
  • Each cell is that muscle's sets that day (primary 1, secondary 0.5).
  • 2× is the days with a stimulus: 2 sets or more. A cell with fewer (for example, 1.5) is shaded but doesn't count.
  • 2d / 5d is the rest days between stimuli. Chest on Monday and Wednesday: 2 days to Wednesday and 5 to the next Monday. With a single week, the jump to the next week is counted.
  • Click a muscle to open its detail.

The consecutive days warning

It appears when a muscle has 4 sets or more on two days in a row: both cells are marked in amber and you see, for example, ⚠ Quadriceps · Consecutive days (8 and 6 sets). It is a reminder, not an error.

In Endurance

When is each sport trained? has one row per sport (without strength) with each day's time and how many days there is a session.
