Products and billing plans

The Products tab is where you create the offers you sell to your clients. A product can be monthly coaching, a personalized routine, an 8-week challenge or a fixed-length program.

Every product needs at least one billing plan. The product answers what the client is buying. The billing plan answers how much they pay and how often.

In the current version you need Stripe connected and active to create products and billing plans. You can then use those plans both for checkout links and for manual payments.

Create a product

Go to Business -> Products and press Create product. Write a clear name and add a description if it helps you tell it apart.

Use names anyone on your team can understand. Monthly coaching, Personalized routine or 6-month strength program work better than Plan A or General payment, because those names later show up in transactions, metrics and payment records.

Create a billing plan

After creating the product, add a billing plan. That is where you choose the amount, the currency and the charge type.

If the client pays once, use a one-time payment. It fits standalone routines, one-off consultations, challenges paid in full or packs that do not renew.

If you want to charge on a recurring basis, use a subscription. It fits monthly coaching, memberships, ongoing coaching or programs paid in instalments. In a subscription you can choose how often it is charged and whether it renews until canceled or ends after a specific number of charges.

Examples

To sell a routine for 79 EUR, create the product Personalized routine and a one-time billing plan for 79 EUR.

For monthly coaching at 149 EUR, create the product Monthly coaching and a subscription billing plan every 1 month that renews until canceled.

For a 6-month program charged in two payments, create the product 6-month strength program and a billing plan of 149 EUR every 3 months for 2 charges. Technically it is a subscription, but it automates the instalments so you do not have to send another link halfway through the program.

Changing prices

If you have already used a billing plan with clients, create a new plan when you change the price. That way older transactions keep the price they were sold at and new ones use the updated price.

Charging a price

From the products table you can open View prices to review each product's active prices. From there you can create new prices, archive prices you no longer want to use and generate payment links.

When you press Generate payment link, TrainerStudio asks whether you want a generic link or a link for a specific client. Use a client link when you already know who is buying. Use a generic link when you want to share the same offer and let Stripe collect the buyer's details during payment.
