Assess your clients' core strength endurance with the 1-minute crunch test. Compare results against normative tables by age and sex to set realistic goals.

Test Protocol (YMCA Crunch Test)

  1. Starting position: lying face up, knees bent at 90 degrees, feet flat on the floor
  2. Arms extended at the sides, palms down
  3. Perform crunches by sliding the fingers 10 cm along the floor (use tape as a reference)
  4. The lower back must stay in contact with the floor
  5. Count complete repetitions in exactly 1 minute
