Ruffier Test

Assess your clients' heart-rate recovery after a submaximal effort. This classic test helps you measure how the heart responds to exercise and recovery.

Ruffier Test Protocol

  1. Rest (P1): The client sits and rests for 5 minutes. Measure the pulse for 15 seconds.
  2. Exercise: Perform 30 full squats in 45 seconds (40 squats/minute pace).
  3. Post-exercise (P2): Immediately after finishing, measure the pulse for 15 seconds.
  4. Recovery (P3): After 1 minute of standing rest, measure the pulse for 15 seconds.
