Track progress with metrics
Metrics let you measure anything you need for your clients: weight in kilos, body fat percentage, vertical jump in centimeters, perceived effort on a scale from 1 to 10... Whatever you can think of.

What you can measure
You decide what to measure. Each metric has a name and a unit of measurement. Some examples:
- Weight → Kilograms
- Body fat → Percentage
- Waist circumference → Centimeters
- Vertical jump → Centimeters
- Perceived effort → Scale (1–10)
- Sleep hours → Hours
- Water intake → Liters
Metric sets
Metrics are grouped into sets to keep them organized. For example, you might have:
- A "Physical condition" set with: Weight, Body fat, Waist circumference
- A "Performance" set with: Vertical jump, Sprint time, Maximum reps
Each set is assigned to the clients who need it. That way each client only sees the metrics that apply to them.
Create a set
- Go to Library → Metrics
- Click Create
- Give it an easy-to-remember name
- Add the metrics you need (name + unit)
- Click Save
Assign to a client
- Go to the client's profile → Metrics
- Click Assign metric set
- Select the set and confirm
You can also enable automatic assignment so new clients receive the set directly.
Adding metrics to the weekly plan
For your client to receive metrics on a specific day and be able to log their measurements from the app:
- Go to the client's weekly plan
- Click Add item → Take measurements
- Select the metric set
The client will see the metrics in their app that day and can enter their values directly.
Logging values
As a trainer
You can log values on behalf of your clients:
- Go to the client's profile → Metrics
- Select the metric
- Click Add entry
- Enter the date and value
As a client
The client has two ways to log their metrics:
- From the day's routine: if you included metrics in the plan, the client sees them as an item for the day and can fill in all the metrics in the set at once
- From Progress: in the bottom menu, Progress section → Metrics → select the metric → add entry
Evolution charts
TrainerStudio automatically generates charts showing the evolution of each metric. You can filter by:
- Last 30 days
- Last 90 days
- From the beginning
- Custom range (with specific dates)
You can also view statistics: initial value, current value, maximum, minimum, and the difference.
Use metrics to make decisions
Metrics are objective data. They help you:
- Adjust the plan: if weight isn't dropping, review nutrition or training volume
- Detect real progress: if measurements improve but weight doesn't change, the client is gaining muscle and losing fat
- Motivate the client: share the charts so they can see their progress. When a client says "I don't see any changes," a chart can completely shift their perspective
Objective data eliminates subjectivity. It's the best way to make decisions and demonstrate results to your clients.
